Tend Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 19, 2026
Tend is a home-management app made by Hearth (the company behind Tend). This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights. Questions any time at [email protected].
Who we are
Tend is built and operated by Hearth, an independent company. We're a small team, and we built Tend because we wanted a calm, AI-powered companion for the things our own homes ask us to do.
What we collect
We only collect information you choose to give us, plus what's strictly needed to run the app.
- Account info. Your email and password (passwords are hashed — we never see them). Optionally your first name.
- Home profile. Address, year built, type, square footage, bedrooms, bathrooms — only what you enter. We geocode the address to latitude/longitude once so we can fetch a local weather forecast for you.
- Your home log. Projects, appliances, vendors, reminders, milestones, documents — everything you save in Tend.
- Photos and files. Appliance photos, chat photo attachments, inspection PDFs, invoice PDFs, and any other documents you upload.
- Chat messages. Questions you ask Tend's AI and the responses returned, including any photo attachments.
- Subscription state. Whether you have an active Tend Pro subscription, and the platform you purchased it on. We don't see your payment card or billing address.
- Basic diagnostics. App version, error reports. No cross-app tracking. No advertising IDs.
We do not collect: precise device location, your contacts, your activity outside Tend, or data from device sensors.
How we use it
- To run the app and store what you save.
- To personalize Tend's AI responses to your specific home, history, and local weather.
- To send local reminders (these stay on your phone — we don't see them).
- To improve Tend in aggregate — we don't read individual users' data for product analysis.
